Jackson has been in the computer industry for almost 30 years, starting in hardware / avionics in the 80s and moving to software in the 90s. He first put production Java applets out in 1997. He has worked for a variety of companies, both large and small. He worked on core web server technology including the Web Container for Netscape and Sun.
Currently he runs IT for a small hospitality services company, small enough that he codes daily. Topaz Hotel Services put out its first generation Ajax web booking engine in 2006 and continues to grow the product. They started with hand-coded javascript and JAXB. Now they are currently developing with Dojo toolkit, JSF, and JSON-RPC. That could always change.
